One afternoon, I was standing in the lobby after church services when my friend came up to me and asked "Hey, you have a pool right?"That was the last straw, I'm not going to buy any pool chemicals or any type of pool equipment for that matter from the church lobby.As the old saying goes, you always get what you pay for.I guess that also applies to swimming pool equipment.I told him yes and then he started talking about his friend who owns a pool.His friend is selling chlorine pucks in plastic buckets which unfortunately had been out in the weather for goodness know how long; the labels peeled off thus could no longer be sold at full price.Each bucket of pucks was being sold for fifteen dollars each.They normally sold for over forty dollars.I told him I would take a couple of buckets.He came over to my house with the chlorine; He left after I paid him.When I opened the buckets and used the chlorine, let's say I'm grateful that I'm still here typing what just happened.The chlorine pucks ate the plastic wrappers and the smell was utterly disgusting.
