Step 1: Remove clutter - Re-decorating (and even cleaning) a cluttered room is more difficult than necessary. Put anything you don't want in your bedroom into a box to be moved later. Bed sizes are not all standard. Shopping for bedding at an internet store allows you to choose from some fantastic bedding. Measure before ordering. You will need to know the length and width of your mattress as well as the depth or thickness. Fitted sheets must be deep enough for your mattress. Measure the "drop" for a bed skirt from the floor to the top of your box spring.

Step 4: Choosing Paint - For an inexpensive yet effective room transformation, be sure to paint the walls (and possibly the ceiling).

Go shopping for paint with your bedding (both sets) in tow. Seek assistance. Pick a color that will work with both sets. Paint shouldn't "match" the bedding. In fact, it's better if it doesn't. Just find one that will compliment or contrast the colors nicely. Choose a ceiling color a shade or two lighter than the walls.
